Paleo Recipe - Thanksgiving And Christmas

Enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas

As you have probably gathered by now I do love my food, and it is no wonder that I love this time of year especially. But just because I follow a Paleo diet and lifestyle it doesn’t mean that I have to completely forsake all things that I love.

Paleo Diet - Thanksgiving & Christmas

So in this week’s blog, I am hoping to help your dreams of having a great Thanksgiving a reality. I have already provided some Paleo recipes you may want to try this year and over the next few days, I will be adding some more. These are all recipes that you can use even if you have guests coming to dinner who don’t actually eat Paleo. Don’t be too surprised when you find these guests of yours not only devouring everything that you place in front of them but also start asking for some of your Paleo diet food recipes.

Of course, if you want why not also use some of these recipes for inclusion in your Christmas meal as well.

We all know just how much time is required in order to create the perfect spread and planning your meals for this time of year can be just as time-consuming as actually prepping and cooking it.

When it comes to creating the perfect Paleo Thanksgiving or Christmas meal it is important to remember the following:

1. There isn’t any need for you to actually give up the turkey it is a good source of protein. Just make sure to help it remain moist that you use plenty of butter and bacon.

2. You don’t have to give up the mashed potatoes completely if you don’t want to, a spoonful of this won’t harm you. However if you would prefer and are able to get hold of them go for the purple variety instead and only steam them. They actually contain a lot more nutrients than the normal white varieties do.  It is perfectly acceptable to enjoy a modified Paleo diet plan if you want.

But if you really don’t want to eat mash potatoes then make some faux-tay-toes instead. Take some cauliflower that you have steamed and combine together with plenty of butter, heaving cream and seasoning.

3. You can still enjoy a sweet potato casserole with your Thanksgiving dinner. However make one separately for you that doesn’t contain marshmallows and brown sugar. Instead, make yours using sliced red onion, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

4. Of course, no Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner would be complete without the gravy for the turkey or any Paleo diet meats for that matter. I would suggest you make yours using the dripping from the pan along with some butter and little chicken broth both of which appear on any approved Paleo food list. However if you want something a little different when eating Paleo a quick look online will help you to find some other really great gravy recipes you may want to try.

Hopefully, you will find the information of some use this coming Thanksgiving and Christmas to ensure that you have a really great time.
