Another recipe for helping to make a delicious gravy that will compliment your Thanksgiving turkey or any roasted meat for that matter.
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 g) Butter (Choose one that comes from grass-fed cows whenever possible)
  • 1 Onion – Finely Chopped
  • ¼ Teaspoon (1.25 g) Black Pepper (Freshly Ground is best)
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon (45 g) Starch (you may use Arrowroot, Tapioca or Potato - These are all Paleo approved!)
  • 5-6 Tablespoons (74-89 g) Blanched Almond Flour
  • 1 ¼ Cups (296 ml) Chicken Broth (Homemade if possible)
  • ½ Teaspoon (2.5 g) Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) Heavy Cream or Coconut Milk (This is optional)
  • ¼ Teaspoon (1.25 g) Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  1. • Place a saucepan over a medium to low heat. Sauté the butter, pepper, and onions in the pan.
  2. • Cook the onions for 20 minutes. This will give the onion a nice golden brown color. We call this method caramelizing.
  3. • Once the onions are caramelized, add the blanched almond flour and starch. Give a good stir and let it sit for 1 minute.
  4. • Add the rest of the ingredients to the pan. Stir continuously as the gravy boils.
  5. • The gravy will start to thicken. Take it off the heat once the desired thickness has been achieved.
  6. • Add salt to taste and blend it in a blender or food processor if you wish to make the gravy smoother.
  7. • When the desired thickness and smoothness has been achieved pour the gravy into a gravy boat.
  8. • Serve and let your guests enjoy their Thanksgiving turkey with your tasty gravy!
