Paleo Recipes - Beef Satay

Beef Satay

paleo style beef satay Tonight I wanted to cook something a little different. We love Thai food and often make curry but have never made satay at home. It was dinner night for the whole big crew and what’s more fun for kids than eating something off of a stick. This was incredibly easy and we will definitely make it again. Please note the tamari isn’t paleo but it is gluten free. If you didn’t want to use it you could use more coconut aminos- honestly, I just ran out and needed a bit more liquid for the marinade….

  • Combine juice of limes, fish sauce, wheat free tamari, coconut aminos, powdered garlic, and turmeric in a bag or bowl for marinading the meat.
  • Thinly slice the tri tip against the grain(I do this when partially frozen).
  • Place in the marinade and put in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. I marindaded this today for about 3 hours and it was great.
  • Preheat your grill or if you’re like me and your grill has been recalled because the same model has evidently exploded on people fire up your broiler(what a bummer in the summertime, can not wait for our replacement parts to arrive…).
  • Skewer the meat.
  • Cook 3-5 minutes per side depending upon temperature of beef you prefer.

You can certainly serve this with a dipping sauce but we didn’t and it was lovely!!!
